Chicago to London the view was dark. Nothing much to see save the occasional city all lit up down below. I am not positive but I am pretty sure that I sat next to Wink Martindale. He didn't talk much but he did show me how to turn on my headphones. The food was good, the wine was good, the movie was good, the seat was so very comfortable.
Heathrow Airport was nice but I think that's because I got to stay in the club room there as well. They had showers and lots of coffee.
London to Rome the view wasn't much to see because it was cloudy below us most of the way. The clouds broke for a bit right at the Alps, which was very cool, and again just before we landed so I was able to see a few little medieval villages before touching down. Sweet!
My driver was waiting for me as I exited customs and drove me to my new home. Not much to say about the drive except that it was apparently a much calmer one than the drive some of my fellow students had to experience.
We all gathered for dinner after at a charming little restaurant in the middle of a teeny, tiny, little street somewhere on the other side of the river. My brain is on overload with everything I'm seeing-the lack of proper sleep doesn't help-so I'm not trying to remember details at this point. But rest assured, I am having a blast!
